The Mac Zone 411
Before I write my first Mac or tech-related post, I thought I'd formally introduce myself and talk a little about what you can expect to see on this blog.
My name is Michael De Leon, and I am a 29-year-old graphic designer for a daily newspaper in San Marcos, TX. I actually live in Martindale, TX, a quiet and quaint community just outside of San Marcos.
Although my day job is as a graphic designer, I wear many hats in my time spent away from my regular 9 to 5. I am the creator of ProjectSpurs, a feature-rich San Antonio Spurs fansite, which I started a little more than two years ago. Other than that, I spend time podcasting, blogging, doing freelance graphic and webdesign work, digging, reading the rss feeds of my favorite blogs, watching and listening to several (mostly tech) podcasts.
I made the switch to a Mac and OS X about 8 months ago after about 12 years using PC's/Windows and use a G4 PowerMac at work and home. As a professional in the creative/multimedia industry, I felt OS X suited my needs better and I haven't found one thing I did on Windows that I haven't been able to do on a Mac, especially since I do all of my gaming on consoles or through a NES emulator made for OS X.
Although a majority of my posts on this blog will be mac-related, I still keep up with the latest in the Windows and Linux worlds as well as the latest in the tech industry. In fact, you can expect me to venture off into web 2.0, gadget news and reviews, and posts about all three platforms.
I hope if you found this post, you'll keep coming back and look forward to news, software/hardware reviews, tutorials, tips, online deals, audioblogs and possibly screencasts and video blogs.
